More information

There are two cultivars bearing the name Zambra. The first is an older orange floribunda bred by Meighan in 1961. It has been grown worldwide for many years and is widely used to create new cultivars. The second is designated Zambra 93 to distinguish it from the earlier cultivar. It is also an orange floribunda, common but only in France. The flowers open bright orange with a yellow center. As the blooms age, the yellow fades and the flowers become redder, starting with the outermost petals, which at the same time curve downward. Blooms appear in tight clusters of 3–10, and the cultivar is used in flowerbeds. The shrub is compact, very thorny, and robust. Rebloom is rapid.

Shiny, leathery foliage covers a branching bush up to 80 cm high and 70 cm wide. The flowers are semi-flowered, lightly scented, bright orange with a yellow reverse, medium-sized. Tolerates poor soils but prefers full sun. Susceptible to black spot.

A low, bushy rose (up to 70 cm) with very large flowers in a coral tone. In the half-open bud stage, complex shades are noticeable. It is characterised by rapid repeat flowering, with flowers of different shades on the bush at the same time. Grown in bush form. It received two gold medals for novelty of colour and general merit.
