More information
It is a polyanthus rose, though Yellow Fairy is positioned as a ground cover rose. Flowers are borne in dense clusters of 3–8 that cover the entire surface of the plant. Newly opened blooms are bright yellow, with golden and amber tones toward the center; over the next couple of days they fade to lemon and cream. Spent flowers do not drop and tend to dry on the bush; new rosettes open in their place. The bush is open, with fine dark green foliage.
Texas, a yellow miniature rose, was crossed with The Fairy in an attempt to breed a yellow ground cover rose, and the cross yielded Yellow Fairy. The flowers are small, rosette-shaped, appearing in large clusters. They are delicate yellow at the beginning of flowering; later the petals turn brown and may fail to open in wet weather. The bush is uneven in height, although it produces many arching shoots. The bush shows sparse coverage. The bush is of medium height.
