More information
Vogelpark Valsrode, named in honour of the largest bird sanctuary in the world, is a shrub. Blooms are pale pink, fading to white, semi-double, with golden stamens. Petals are irregular in shape. Flowers appear in small clusters, as in floribundas, 3–9 per cluster, sometimes more. The dark, glossy foliage shows disease resistance, though black spot can be an issue. The variety is winter-hardy and resilient.
Coloring is soft pink, fading to pearly pink as the flowers open. The blooms are fairly double, showing golden stamens, medium to large, produced in very large numbers in clusters at different heights of the bush. The fragrance is light and sweet, and flowering continues all summer, with especially abundant bloom in autumn. The foliage is light green, abundant, and shiny. A strong, hardy variety; the bush is spreading, of medium height.
