More information
This hybrid tea rose has received numerous awards in Europe for fragrance. Its scent includes notes of lemon, clove, rose oil, and spices. The blooms are large, with long petals. When newly opened, they appear bright crimson, later fading to violet-pink and mauve-pink. The reverse sides of the petals are paler. At full bloom, a white spot is visible at the centre, accompanied by a dense cluster of golden stamens. Flowers are frequently mottled with white streaks across the petals—insufficient for classification as a striped rose, yet occurring more often than is typical in red and purple roses. Violette Parfumee forms an upright bush and carries large foliage.
