More information
Orange, apricot, peach, salmon, pink, and yellow all appear in the colours of Victor Borge. Apricot pink is predominant, while the petal reverses are yellow. As the blooms age, the yellow tones diminish and the flowers become increasingly pink, then open suddenly to reveal a yellow centre. Victor Borge is a Hybrid Tea rose with goblet-shaped buds; however, blooms often appear in clusters, sometimes up to 10 per cluster. The shrub is vigorous and flowers nearly continuously, though young plants may show a loose habit until the bush develops a broad framework. The foliage is large, glossy, and disease resistant, and the young growth is red.
This rose is named for two notable individuals and is also marketed as Michael Crawford in some countries. The cultivar is vigorous, disease resistant, medium in height, well-branched, and resistant to powdery mildew in warm regions. Buds open into salmon-orange flowers with a slight peach tint. The flowers are double, produced singly or in small clusters, with a light fragrance. Blooms may be damaged in wet weather. With good care, it can show complete disease resistance. Rebloom is spontaneous, allowing the cultivar to provide varied colour in the garden when planted in full sun.
