More information

Valencia 89 is an apricot hybrid tea rose with fragrant blooms. Flowers are large, opening from elongated buds. Bloom color is old gold, with a bronze‑apricot reverse; petals are dense and velvety. Color lightens during opening, especially at the edges, so the outer petals fade to pale pink while the inner petals remain deep apricot. Blooms typically appear singly on long stems and are suitable for cutting. The plant is vigorous, disease resistant, and well branched. Abundant repeat flowering.

Elongated buds open to large old‑gold flowers. The shrub branches well and reaches 1.2 metres. Deadhead and prune the shoots to promote repeat bloom.

Flowers are light copper‑yellow, fairly large, densely petalled, usually produced singly, with the hybrid tea form that becomes cup‑shaped at full bloom. Fragrance is sweet, and flowering continues through summer and autumn. The bush has a tall, open habit with an uneven outline; often used as a border plant rather than in flowerbeds. The plant is tall and open yet of medium overall size.
