More information
Uncle Walter is variably classified; the cultivar may be placed among Hybrid Tea, climbing roses, or shrubs. The blooms are large, goblet-shaped, blood-red with fine white streaks. In fully open flowers, golden stamens are visible. Blooms are produced in clusters of up to nine, and the shoots are armed with large prickles. The bush tends to sprawl and requires support; training it along a hedge is one practical solution.
