This variety bears single flowers, showing both the simplicity of individual blooms and the effect produced en masse. Large open inflorescences of yellow flowers display clearly visible golden stamens. The flowers pale over time and have a light musky fragrance with fresh notes of orange zest. The rose produces regular repeat blooms throughout the summer. A large, well-branched shrub; the bush form is rounded.
Named to mark the 25th anniversary of the weekly comic strip Tottering-by-Gently by Annie Tempest. First published in Country Life magazine in January 1994, the Tottering-by-Gently series depicts the everyday shenanigans of Dickie and Duffy Tottering and their family at Tottering Hall. The strip uses humour across a variety of social themes touching on contemporary issues.
