More information
Bright blooms, good form, and vigor are associated with this variety’s popularity. When open, the blooms are deep yellow; as they continue to unfold, a coral border develops on the petals and increases, so that a shrub in full bloom presents a bright mixture of yellow and red. The blooms are very double, with many small, short petals spirally curled at the center. The petal edges are wavy. At full bloom the bicolor pattern is evident. Flowers usually appear one at a time on short, erect shoots. The shrub is dense, broad, and strong, with dark foliage and red young shoots. Usually very resistant to disease.
A key feature of this variety is its long flowering period. It is uncommon not to find several of these bright blooms on a bush throughout summer and autumn. The flowers are medium-sized, rounded, with broad, bright yellow petals with a red border. They appear singly or in broad clusters. They open slowly, taking on a calyx shape. Spent flowers should be cut back as they lose color. Used for flowerbeds, borders, and hedges. The shrub is strong-growing, branched, of medium height, with dark green, glossy foliage.
