Rolf Sievers, a breeder and rose enthusiast from Germany, developed healthy, frost-resistant cultivars by crossing the Rosa alba hybrid ‘Small Maiden’s Blush’ with modern garden roses. The cultivars in this series inherit vigor, winter hardiness, fragrance, and densely branched flowering from Rosa alba. ‘Tender Blush’ is one of ten cultivars in the Blush series, with pink‑apricot double blooms that fade to light pink toward the end of flowering. Shrubs reach up to 2.5 m and are spreading. The rose overwinters in the North‑West under a light shelter.
