More information
Complex hybridisation indicates that Tchin-Tchin is the result of a long programme to breed an orange floribunda. It has been grown since its introduction, including in France, where it originated. The flowers are large for a floribunda, double, with scarlet-orange petals. They open fully at the end and show stamens as well as white stripes at the base of the petals. Flowers appear in clusters of 3-10pc, fading to red with age. The foliage is closely green. It blooms repeatedly and abundantly. Pleistocarpus was bred in 1996; it is also cultivated. Completely identical to the bush form except for the plethysmata.
