More information
Tatjana is a dark red hybrid tea rose, a type popular in Germany, where many red cultivars have been bred. The flowers are dark red, with almost black velvety markings on the petals and occasional white streaks. They open from buds into well-formed blooms on strong shoots. The foliage is large; the shrub is branched, upright, with large thorns. In Germany it is compact, low, and very winter-hardy; in hot climates it can reach 1 m.
As with many dark red roses, this variety’s petals reflect sunlight, producing a velvety sheen. The flowers are rounded, composed of relatively short petals, cup-shaped, and exude a rich fragrance. They occur singly or in small candelabra-shaped clusters on long shoots. Suitable for mixed borders. The shrub is dense, branched, erect, tall, with large dark green foliage.
