More information
Breeding of English roses emphasizes a high degree of varietal variability. Tam o’Shanter differs markedly from other English roses, making its group placement uncertain. Its blooms correspond to English roses of the “old” group. The shoots are long and arching, and flowers are carried along the entire length of the stems, as in “species” roses. The flowers are rosette-shaped. The color is cherry-pink, and fully open blooms develop a purple tinge. The fragrance is light and fruity. The variety shows strong disease resistance. Suitable for informal gardens and for large mixed borders.
