Rosa sweginzowii 'Macrocarpa' is a pink species rose with single flowers (4 to 8 petals), usually produced one per stem. It flowers once in spring or summer. The plant has thorns or prickles and typically bears 7 to 11 leaflets per leaf. It can reach a height of up to 500 cm (about 16 feet 5 inches). It is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 6b through 9b and can be used as a specimen plant. It produces ornamental hips. This form is a species selection that originated at the Europarosarium in Sangerhausen and was discovered before 1954 by an unknown discoverer.
