A rose with blooms borne singly (unbranched). Flowers open from conical, bright-coral buds. Lightly fragrant; pale coral at first, fading to pink. The reverse of the petals is initially darker, later also fading to pale pink. Open blooms show bright red stamens. Shrub to about 3.5 m, with stiff foliage and large spines. Can be grown as a bush. Flowers repeatedly.
Summer Wine bears semi-double flowers. Blooms develop from long buds of bright coral, contrasted by the salmon pink of the unfolding petals. Open flowers have a yellow center, later fading to pink and white, with red stamens. Shoots are thick and spiny, with large foliage. Reaches about 2 m as a bush; on a support, approximately twice as tall.
