More information
This Hybrid Tea rose selection by McGrady is among the hardiest brown roses in growth, yet also among the most disease-prone. Very large, cup-shaped beige blooms with a golden center and a lavender tint along the petal edges—especially noticeable in cold weather—appear almost continuously. In heat, Spiced Coffee shifts to a greyish pinkish beige. The flowers are among the most fragrant of brown roses, with a strong clove scent. Plants readily reach 120 cm or more in the first year after planting. Foliage is matte, light green, and requires regular preventive spraying.
This variety is a novelty with unusual colouring. In cold climates the colour is more pink and lavender; in heat it resembles coffee with milk. The flowers are very fragrant, comprise 15–25 petals, and appear among matte foliage. The cultivar is primarily used for cutting. It has limited growth vigour and is very susceptible to disease.
