Special Occasion is a modern hybrid tea rose bred by Gareth Fryer. The blooms are large, very double, and well-formed. The form holds from bud to full flower. The colour is apricot, paler at the margins and more vivid in the center and on the reverse; copper-pink shading appears between the petals. Flowers are borne mainly singly, with occasional clusters. Special Occasion typically starts flowering among the earliest hybrid teas and then repeats in flushes for the remainder of the season. The plant has a tidy, branching habit with dark, glossy foliage.
This hybrid tea cultivar in copper-apricot tones produces large, double, fragrant flowers. It flowers early and reblooms quickly. The shrub is compact and branching. Suitable for flowerbeds and mass plantings. Shows good disease resistance. Awarded a Gold Medal in Geneva.
