Tea rose with light pink flowers showing buff and copper shading, blush outer petals, and aging to white. Flowers have glandular or hairy pedicels, none to mild fragrance, an average diameter of about 8.7 cm, and are large, full with 26–40 petals, mostly borne singly, with a globular form and long buds. It blooms in flushes throughout the growing season. The plant has thorns or prickles, glossy light green foliage with 3 to 5 leaflets, and typically reaches about 90 cm in height and 60–90 cm in width. Bred in France by François Marest before 1853 and introduced in 1854. It is suitable for USDA zones 6b through 9b and is heat tolerant.
