Bud roundly pointed, bright red, with a velvety cast. Flowers bright red, with a dark crimson tint in the center and dark velvety edges of the lower, slightly pointed petals; reverse light crimson; cup-shaped, large (11–12 cm), very double (30–50 petals), with a strong fragrance. In hot climates, the edges of the petals can scorch. Flowers are solitary and in inflorescences, on very long, stout, straight stems (up to 1.5 m high). The bushes are upright, vigorous. Leaves are dark green, ovate, leathery, semi-glossy. Spines are large, medium-dense. Flowering is abundant, repeated.
