More information

This seedling of The Fairy is a modern groundcover rose that is widely cultivated. Sommerwind blooms open dark pink and fade to pale pink; the stamens darken, and the petals become wavy. Flowers are produced in numerous inflorescences, borne in clusters of 5–25, distributed all over the bush. The initial flowering is abundant, and the plant maintains repeat bloom from summer through to the end of autumn. Sommerwind has small, slightly glossy foliage, and a spreading, bushy growth habit. The variety is vigorous and disease resistant. Uses include landscape plantings, container culture, hedges, edging for flowerbeds, and planting in combination with other Schrabs. ADR certified in 1987 .
