This groundcover rose was introduced in recent years and is cultivated worldwide under various names; Sommermarchen is the original German name. It bears mauve-pink blooms with contrasting golden stamens. The petals have festooned edges, and flowering is abundant. The blooms are produced in clusters of 5–15 and continue until the first frost. The foliage is dark and glossy. The shrub is compact yet spreading, suitable for landscape plantings and containers. Suitable for a mixed border.
