More information

Hybrid Tea rose ‘Sirenevaja Mechta’ (also known as ‘Сиреневая Мечта’ and ‘Lilac Dream’) was bred by Zinaida Konstantinovna Klimenko in Ukraine and Vera Nikolaevna Klimenko in the former USSR in 1969.

Flowers are lilac with a purple to violet tinge, large (about 9–10 cm in diameter), double, with up to 30 petals, cupped or goblet-shaped, and usually borne singly on long, sturdy shoots. They have a moderate fragrance.

The shrub is vigorous and semi-spreading. Leaves are dark green and glossy. The cultivar flowers repeatedly in flushes throughout the growing season. It is suitable for use in group plantings, borders, and for cutting.
