More information
This variety shows overall resilience yet is susceptible to powdery mildew and black spot. Such susceptibility is uncommon within the Explorer series; preventive care is helpful. Flowers are bright pink with a white eye at the center and a small cluster of stamens. Blooms are usually semi-double, but not consistently: at times nearly fully double, and at other times nearly single. Petals are twisted toward the center. Flowers appear in clusters of 3–7 on a low, spreading shrub. Foliage is dark and glossy; the plant is prickly. It flowers over an extended period through summer and autumn.
Flower color ranges between salmon and coral. Blooms are single or semi-double. Flowering is abundant; in early summer the foliage is almost hidden beneath the mass of blooms. Later, the plant remains covered with flowers.
