Flowers are scarlet red, large (10–12 cm in diameter), double, with 26–28 petals, and are borne on long shoots. The bush is low and spreading. Flowering is abundant and prolonged, continuing until frost. The variety is resistant to powdery mildew and is recommended for standards and decorative plantings.

This is a grandiflora rose with scarlet blooms, having about 26–28 petals and an average flower diameter of approximately 10.8 cm (4.25 inches). Flowers are large and double, and the plant flowers in flushes throughout the growing season. It was bred in 1959 by Zinaida Konstantinovna Klimenko in Ukraine and by Vera Nikolaevna Klimenko in the former USSR. Known synonyms include the Russian name “Севастопольский Салют” and “Sebastopol Salute.”
