More information
This variegated rose is widely grown in western Europe and Scandinavia. Schneewalzer 87 bears large blooms with tea-hybrid form. At first opening, the color is very pale lemon with a pearly pink center, later becoming pure white. Flowers typically appear singly on long stems, occasionally 2–3. Flowering shoots are flexible and arch to the sides, and the blooms nod, making them visible from below. The foliage is dark and disease-resistant; the shrub is strong-growing and well-branched. Bloom continues almost without interruption throughout summer. Rain can damage the flowers.
Many sources describe Schneewalzer as pure white; the variety shows a very pale lemon coloration with a pearly pink center. Blooms are very large, 13–15 cm across, tea-hybrid in shape, with a light fragrance. After the first profuse flush, only single flowers appear; in wet weather, buds may fail to open.
