More information
Scarlet Queen Elisabeth inherits its bright coloration from the 1950 floribunda Korona, a cultivar now rarely seen. It forms a tall, strongly growing bush that requires heavy pruning to control height, since the flowers are produced at the tips of very long shoots. The blooms are bright scarlet and appear in large numbers in clusters of up to 12; the short petals curl toward the center and the center is never exposed. In rain, red spots develop on the petals. The bush is upright with dark, disease-resistant foliage.
