More information

The colouring is saturated fuchsia with purple hues. Yellow stamens in the centre of the flower create a clear contrast. Towards the end of the season, the fruits take on the colour of ripe tomatoes. Buds open into large, flat, five-petalled flowers over 8 cm in diameter. The spherical fruits are also large and fleshy, with a diameter of at least 2.5 cm. The bloom has few petals and is highly fragrant. The aroma is strong, with a classic rose scent. Flowers, gathered in clusters of tassel-like inflorescences and well distributed across the bush, provide abundant blooming at the beginning of the season. Unlike many rose varieties also grown for numerous decorative fruits, this variety is characterised by a fairly abundant secondary flowering at the end of the season. When ripe in late summer, the fruits take on the colour of ripe tomatoes and remain present into early winter. The mature plant is tall, with a broad, rounded crown. Dense, interlacing branches form the crown; bush height reaches 2.4 metres with a width of 1.5 metres. Each shoot is covered with very frequent, sharp thorns. The leaves are light green and wrinkled, appear very stiff, and cover the plant densely. As they fall, the leaves turn yellow. Shows very high disease resistance. Suitable for the background of borders, in hedges, and for single plantings.
