More information
The Harkness family introduced a series of roses called "English Legend". Samaritan is a representative of this series: it combines the form and scent of old-fashioned roses with the color and profusion of blooms of modern ones. The flowers are roughly flattened rosettes with many small, wavy petals. Their color is a delicate apricot, maturing to creamy pink at the edges. They usually appear singly, sometimes in small clusters at the ends of long shoots. The shrub is vigorous, upright, with dark green, glossy foliage. It re-blooms quickly and abundantly; in hot climates it flowers for almost a year.
The branched shrub reaches 75 cm; foliage is bright green and shiny. The flowers are apricot with yellow and pink tones; with age the petals develop a red edging. Blooms are flattened, old-style. A winter-hardy, robust variety, resistant to diseases. The flowers tolerate rain.
