More information
Salita displays intense coloration—blazing orange and scarlet. The flowers are medium-sized (8–9 cm), double, and shaped like hybrid tea roses, borne singly or in small clusters. Dark, glossy foliage provides the backdrop. Young shoots are deep purple. The bush reaches 3 m and flowers nearly continuously.
Salita is a variegated rose with a bright color scheme common in Germany. The blooms are scarlet with a coral cast—a combination of red and orange that fades to dark pink. In transmitted sunlight, the petals appear luminous. Each bloom is shaped like a hybrid tea rose. Flowers are produced singly or in neat clusters of up to 5 per stem, on long, strong shoots. The foliage is large, glossy, and disease-resistant, with crimson young growth. Height increase is moderate, and in Germany it is sometimes grown as a shrub; in hot climates it is vigorous. Suitable for training on a pole, as blooms occur at multiple levels of the bush, not only at the top.
