More information
Tantau Rosen, the breeder of this groundcover rose, describes Rody’s colour as strawberry red. The blooms have no fragrance. The flowers are semi-double; the petals are arranged to give a double appearance, and they are borne in clusters of 3–12. At full bloom they nearly cover the dark green foliage. Rody forms a winter-hardy, vigorous, disease-resistant shrub with short shoots that arch under the weight of the flowers, so the plant spreads more in width than in height. It is listed as a landscape rose and is also suitable for containers and for planting in mix-borders.
Rody is a groundcover variety from the City-Flor series. The small double flowers maintain a persistent crimson‑pink colour and are produced in large inflorescences. Flowering is abundant, with numerous clusters formed on the bush. The shrub is dense due to many shoots and abundant foliage.
