More information
Pussta is a very low-growing floribunda, bearing scarlet flowers in small clusters of 2–5. The blooms are rain-resistant, and spent petals drop cleanly. The foliage is tidy, bright green, and disease resistant. It is widely grown in northern and western Europe for its abundant bloom. Classified as a low bedding rose. Also suitable for mixborders.
This rose forms globular buds that open to semi-marginal dark red flowers with golden stamens. The flowers are scentless. The foliage is dark green, and the shrub is strong, upright. It has two predecessors: the orange tea-hybrid rose 1913 Daily Mail Rose and the crimson tea-hybrid rose Daily Mail Scented Rose 1927.
