More information
Prominent is a vigorous, readily cultivated variety with distinctive coloration. The flowers open slowly from elongated, elegant buds. The outer petals reflex downward. The blooms display orange and scarlet tones with a golden center visible at full opening. Strong, long shoots, long vase life, and abundant flowering have led to its use as a cut variety. Although it can occasionally produce irregular buds, it has been grown for cutting under industrial conditions. Its coloration and tolerance of poor soils have supported its use in gardens. Foliage may be susceptible to powdery mildew. Shoots bear few thorns; the bush is upright.
