More information

A Japanese garden rose developed for the emperor. The color is bright peach with cream and coral tones. At full opening the bud reveals the center; petals are reflexed outward. Foliage is dark green. Flowers are large, semi-double to double, borne in small inflorescences on sturdy pedicels. Blooms in waves throughout the season.

Named in honor of a Japanese hereditary princess; the name means “beloved” or “child of love.” The bud measures 6.6 cm at half-open and, within six days, expands to 11 cm while maintaining its form. Peduncle length is 40–60 cm; the rose has no side shoots. Vase life is 10–12 days. Fragrance intensity: 0 out of 5. The bush is medium-growing; winter hardiness is limited because varieties in this series are intended for cutting and cultivated in Kenya, and they require winter shelter. Recommended to combine with Juliet, Princess Charlene (Juliet, Princess Charlene).
