Classification lies between shrub and groundcover: the plant spreads laterally to nearly twice its height yet does not creep. Single 5-petalled blooms are soft pink with a white eye, produced in clusters on sturdy shoots among the foliage. Flowers open to a saucer form, exposing golden stamens. The fragrance is light; after the initial abundant flush it continues to flower through summer and autumn. Suitable for borders; in parks used for bedding and landscape plantings. The bush is spreading and above medium height. Foliage is abundant, bright green, glossy; young growth is reddish.
