Perpetual White Moss is a white-flowered moss sport of the Damask rose *Quatre Saisons* (also called Autumn Damask), discovered by Laffet in France. Genetically, it is indistinguishable from *Quatre Saisons* / *Rosa damascena* ‘Bifera’.
The plant:
- Produces white, double flowers.
- Has mossy (glandular) growths typical of moss roses.
- Possesses a sweet fragrance.
- Flowers repeatedly at intervals of a few weeks, with light rebloom in autumn.
The cultivar frequently reverts: individual shoots may change from mossed, white-flowering growth to smooth, pink-flowering growth. As a result, a single plant may bear both mossed white and smooth pink flowers at the same time.
