More information
It lacks fragrance, but Perle Meillandecor is a groundcover rose with a thick, spreading habit that suppresses weed germination and produces a notably profuse first bloom. The flowers are pale, clear pink with a pearlescent, silk-like look and a hint of salmon pink in the center, later fading to white at the edges. Blooms are densely packed and borne in clusters of 5–25. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and stiff. The cultivar is disease-resistant, winter-hardy, and heat-tolerant. The shrub expands more in width than in height. Flowering occurs in waves rather than continuously, with subsequent flushes less abundant than the first.
Perle Meillandecor is used in single and group plantings and is commonly employed on retaining walls. In Europe, it is also planted in motorway dividing strips. A characteristic of the variety is its moderate foliage.
