More information

Wilhelm Cordes conducted breeding work with numerous old varieties. Parkzauber resulted from a cross between an orange floribunda and a small moss rose, representing distinct rose classes. The blooms are dark pink to cherry pink, with many wavy petals gathered around the center. They typically appear in clusters of 3–7 and are produced in large numbers. Parkzauber forms a vigorous shrub: initially upright, later developing a fountain-like habit, with stiff dark foliage (sometimes a compound leaf has only three leaflets). The shoots are covered with “moss.” Cordes bred this rose 5 years before Austin bred Constance Spry.
