More information
Parkdirektor Riggers produces deep red blooms that require strong light to show full coloration. They lack inherent luminosity, so in cloudy weather the color diminishes. In bright sunlight the blooms display maximum saturation, especially at peak flowering when clusters carry about 30 blooms. Each flower is a deep red, non-scorching shade with a small tuft of greenish-yellow stamens at the center. The foliage is dark green, glossy, disease resistant, and the shrub is well-branched. Flowers very abundantly.
Long, pointed buds open into velvety red flowers with a small tuft of yellow stamens in the center and white and purple spots at the petal bases. The color does not fade even in hot climates. The fragrant, semi-marginal flowers appear in large clusters of up to 50 per cluster, and the shrub can reach 3.5 m in height and 1.8 m in width. The foliage is glossy, and the bush is spreading and disease resistant. A kordesii hybrid characterized by abundant bloom. Without prevention it can be affected by diseases.
