More information
Palmengarten Frankfurt is a ground cover rose. The display emphasizes the mass of the shrub rather than individual flowers. It is commonly planted in large groups as a landscape or ground cover variety. The flowers are pink with a lilac tinge, cup-shaped, semi-double, recalling early polyantha roses. They appear in large, open clusters of 10–30; the plant flowers freely. The foliage is small, healthy, dark green, and the plant is winter-hardy and tolerant of poor conditions. Palmengarten Frankfurt grows tall and wide and is suitable for informal hedges. ADR certified in 1992 .
This ground cover rose reaches about 1 m in height and 1.3 m in width. The shrub carries very disease-resistant, glossy, dark green foliage. The blooms are semi-double, with 15–20 bright pink petals that hold their colour well, and are produced in dense clusters. From spring to autumn it blooms with quick repeat; flowers can cover the shrub. Used for flowerbeds; also suited to planting on slopes and under trees, and as a weeping standard.
