More information

Deep blue purple to black with lavender eye and gold stamens. In the photo it is at the base of the tree. The climber is James Mason. The class and exact identity of this handsome, mysterious rose is disputed. It does not have the height or sprawl of the Hybrid Chinas with which it sometimes classed.
