More information

Nyveldt's White is a white or white blend Hybrid Rugosa rose. It has a strong fragrance. Blooms are large, single, and cluster-flowered, with an average diameter of about 10 cm and 4–8 petals. The plant occasionally repeats flowering later in the season. It grows to about 150–215 cm in height and 120–215 cm in width. It is suitable for USDA zones 4a through 9b and can be used as a garden shrub or hedge. The rose produces decorative orange-red hips. It was bred by Albert Arie Nijveldt / Nyveldt in the Netherlands in 1955 and is similar to Rosa rugosa alba, with somewhat wider petals and more days of recurrent bloom, and responds well to pruning in a hedge.
