More information

A compact hybrid tea rose with very dark red blooms that shift toward maroon in hot weather. The foliage is matte, medium green, and new growth is reddish. It flowers freely; the shoots are slender, and each terminates in buds. Flowering starts early, among the first, in late spring. The blooms have a defined form, with dark, velvety petals and yellow stamens. The petal corners tend to curl, and the petals tolerate wet weather and wind. The flowers do not scorch in heat.
