More information
This Chinese rose is identifiable by the presence of different flower colours on a single bush. Orange-red buds open into unbranched, cup-shaped or almost flat flowers 5–6 cm in diameter. Newly opened flowers are usually delicate yellow (orange on the underside), then change to peach, pink, and later crimson. All these colours can be present simultaneously on the bush. The fragrance is light or absent. Flowers appear in loose clusters; it blooms earlier than other roses and continues until frost. Long, branching shoots are covered with abundant, shiny foliage. The bush is spreading. In cold climates it remains relatively compact, 100–120 cm tall. In warm climates it can reach 2 metres in height and width. Suitable both as a solitaire on the lawn and in mass plantings; combines with both bright and pastel colours, as well as silver foliage. Also suitable as a pletista rose, when planted to the support. Rarely gets sick.
