Mrs Yamada is a Bourbon rose, discovered as a maroon sport of 'Variegata di Bologna' at the Barakura Gardens in Japan. It has purple and red blooms that are cupped and fully double, carried on a vigorous, upright bush. The variety is suitable for USDA zones 6b through 9b. It was discovered by Peter Beales in the United Kingdom around 2002 and introduced there by Peter Beales Roses in 2006.
