More information
Monika is a bright red-yellow hybrid tea rose. Colour is most intense at the opening stage. Vivid orange and scarlet petals contrast with the yellow reverse. When fully open, the colour softens and the yellow contrast diminishes. Blooms typically appear singly on very long, upright stems, making it suitable for cutting. Foliage is dark, glossy and disease-resistant; the plant is tall and erect, reaching 2 m in hot climates, but usually stays under 1 m when pruned.
Monika bears very long buds that open to bright scarlet flowers with a golden base. The colour holds and resists fading. Flowers usually appear singly on long shoots, which makes this variety suitable for cutting. The shrub is tall, with abundant, dark green, disease-resistant foliage. Flowering is abundant. Suitable for planting as a hedge and for the back of a border.
