Mme Plantier combines the grace and profuse flowering of Noisette roses with the winter hardiness and characteristics of Alba roses. It is vigorous, grown either as a tall, elegant shrub or, more commonly, trained on an obelisk or pole for a heavy display. It shows notable winter hardiness and adapts to a wide range of conditions. The blooms open pale pink and quickly fade to pure white; they are double, sometimes with a button eye. They appear in clusters of 5–20 on a strong, branching, nearly thornless plant with small, pale green foliage.
A variety recognized for winter hardiness and adaptability to varied conditions. Flowers are medium-sized, 6–7 cm in diameter, pure white (sometimes with a slight pink tinge), densely petalled, with a light leafy scent. They are produced in trusses of 10–20 on a vigorous, branching shrub that is almost without thorns, with fine pale green leaves. It blooms once per season and can reach 3–4 m. Used as a scion in Florida in the 19th century, and cited in 1929 sources as suitable for northern regions; winter-hardy in St. Petersburg.
This hardy Rosa alba hybrid withstands very severe winters; the following summer, green shoots carry hundreds of pure-white, quartered flowers with a light fragrance. Provide ample space for growth. In warm climates, long canes can be trained up a wall or pergola. In cold climates, shoot tips may freeze in the absence of snow cover. The variety shows high disease resistance and roots very easily. Foliage is bright green and abundant.
Grown as a park rose in the northern and central regions of Russia. Flowers are pure white, densely petalled (120–140 petals), medium-sized, with a strong fragrance. It blooms abundantly for about one month and does not set fruit. Shrubs 1.2–1.5 m tall have arching, drooping canes. It overwintered without protection in Leningrad.
