More information
This Noisette rose flowers 12 months of the year in warm climates and is among the first to open in colder regions. Buds are elongated and elegant, soft pink. After opening, blooms are initially soft pink, especially in cold weather, then usually turn bright white quickly and do not fade for long. Flowers are slightly cup-shaped with wavy petals, borne on long, strong shoots in loose clusters of 3-9. Used for cut flowers. Foliage is large and pale green. Growth is strong, with many flexible, erect shoots; thorns are almost absent. Tolerates semi-shade: in cold countries it is sometimes planted against a dark wall, and in warm countries it is used to highlight cool, shady corners. Resistant to disease, although powdery mildew may occur.
Masses of milky-white, cup-shaped, very fragrant flowers with a pinkish tinge on long, nearly thornless shoots. Suitable for hedges or as a plaited rose on a support or wall, where it reaches up to 6 metres. Foliage is large, abundant, and pale green. Blooms almost continuously through summer and autumn. Suitable for cultivation in semi-shade; in full sun the repeat flowering is more abundant and the bush is stronger. Tolerates poor soils and can be trained onto a large tree.
This old-fashioned variegated rose was labelled "useless" when first raised. Forty years later, the National Society of Rose Growers of Great Britain recommended it as "the best white winter-hardy climber". It is among the first to bloom and rarely stands without flowers. Buds are soft pink, as are the flowers, especially in cold weather. The blooms appear in small clusters, densely filled, about 10 cm in diameter, somewhat shaggy, with a sweet fragrance. Foliage is bright green; shoots are flexible and almost thornless. One of the most winter-hardy Tea-Noisette roses, it reaches 5 m, and even taller in warmer climates.
Flowers are creamy pink-white, 7-10 cm in diameter, reminiscent of gardenias. They appear in clusters on erect shoots, double, loose, globular, and very fragrant. Foliage is large and light green; shoots are prickly. Like most Noisette roses, this is a climber and very strong. The blooms droop under their own weight, so the display is downward-facing. Can also be grown as a large bush. Tolerates semi-shade, heat, and humidity, and is also quite disease resistant.
