Maxim is marketed in Germany and popular in Australia, yet it is rarely encountered in other countries. It is a white-with-red bicolour tea-hybrid rose: the blooms are white with crimson margins. The width of the crimson edging varies notably; as the blossom opens, the band broadens and creeps over the white areas. The outer petals are more intensely coloured than the inner petals. The flowers usually appear singly at the ends of long shoots. It is suitable for cuttings. Plant height varies by region: in Germany it seldom exceeds 1 metre, whereas in Australia it is generally over 1.5 metres. Overall, it flowers profusely, shows disease resistance, and carries glossy dark green foliage.
