More information

An old, hardy cultivar. Flowers are pink, strongly fragrant, with petals folded in an old-style form; borne singly or in small clusters and slightly nod under their own weight. Once-blooming with abundant, prolonged flowering. Hips are rarely produced. Foliage is light green; leaflets are elongated and slightly stinging. Shrubs are upright, dense, and thorny, eventually producing shoots. Responsive to fertilisers; in severe winters, growth above the snow line may freeze, followed by restoration. Tolerates shade.
