Flowers in soft pink, with distinctly deeper pink along the petal edges, cup-shaped, large (up to 11 cm), densely-waved (up to 63 petals), and strongly fragrant. Foliage is dark green, glossy, and large. The shrub is compact, vigorous, and flowers abundantly for an extended period.
Major Gagarin — GNBS, 1956. Derived from the cross Peace x Baby Chateau. Clusters are medium-grown, well branched. Leaves are dark green. Flowers are silvery soft pink with more intense colour at the petal edges, large, 8–10 cm in diameter. Begins flowering in the first decade of June, blooms abundantly, up to 150 flowers on one bush, and maintains bloom for an average of 97 days. Productivity for cutting — more than 50 flowers from one bush. Decorativeness rating — 92 points. Average winter-hardy, resistant to disease damage. Rayonised for cutting and landscaping in the Steppe since 1976.
